Technological sovereignty in Poland and Europe. Public opinion survey report. 2026 edition.

Will Poland and Europe regain their digital independence?

For years, Europe has been losing its technological sovereignty, becoming dependent on global giants and handing over its most valuable data to them. Today, however, the global rules of the game are changing drastically, and nations are returning to active industrial policies.

The report reveals that Polish society is fully aware of these challenges and threats. For 56% of respondents, technological sovereignty is a priority, and as many as 71% of us declare a willingness to pay the so-called ‘sovereignty premium’ and support local technologies.

In the latest edition of the report, you will find a) an anatomy of the problem – a detailed analysis of the mistakes that led to the loss of independence, and the real consequences for Polish business and national security, b) the voice of the public – hard data from a survey conducted by NielsenIQ, revealing Poles’ concerns and their strong support for the ‘Fortress Europe’ concept, c) global inspirations – an overview of concrete actions taken by nine countries (including France, Japan, Israel and India) on the path to technological autonomy.

Download the report and find out why control over technology is the foundation of economic development today.
