Warsaw has long supported the development of new technologies. This is confirmed by the 'State of Warsaw AI' report, which ranks the capital as one of the leading centres for artificial intelligence development in Central and Eastern Europe, both in terms of the number of companies and the level of investment in breakthrough solutions.
Today in Warsaw, the national premiere of the 'State of Warsaw AI' report took place during the Meetup 65 AI & Hardware Conference.
The Warsaw-based artificial intelligence sector is a significant part of the Polish technology market. It brings together around 500 companies, accounting for as much as 46 per cent of the country's AI businesses. Like a magnet, the capital attracts talent and new technologies. And it is perceived by investors as a place with high potential for the development of this industry.
The capital is becoming a significant technology hub in Central and Eastern Europe, thanks to the ambition and creativity of its residents and the cooperation of the business community, academia and local administration. For several years, we have seen an increase in the number of AI companies in the Warsaw market. More than 65% of them expect to increase their investments in AI start-ups. In turn, as many as 83% of AI sector employees believe that it is possible to find an attractive job in this sector in Warsaw. A city full of inspiration and at the same time being a centre of innovation, it attracts talent and new ideas from all over the world,' - emphasises Rafał Trzaskowski, Mayor of Warsaw, in the introduction to the report.
There are approximately 6,500 AI professionals working in the capital, and their number is growing at a rate of around 54 per cent per year. As many as 92 per cent of those employed in the industry have higher education, mainly in technical fields, and 86 per cent are fluent in English. The potential of qualified specialists is one of the arguments of investors planning the development of high-tech companies in Warsaw. According to 83 per cent of employees of Warsaw's AI companies, attractive jobs can be found in the capital. The main employment sectors are IT (35 per cent of employees), trade and e-commerce (13 per cent) and banking and finance (13 per cent).
