Interview - Who is afraid of artificial intelligence? Results of RASP survey on AI

In the latest issue of Newsweek, you can read an interview with Piotr Mieczkowski on the conclusions of the Ringier Axel Springer Polska report on Poles' attitudes toward artificial intelligence. You will learn who fears it and who sees it as an opportunity. The interview also discusses how AI affects our lives and work.

Interview - Who is afraid of artificial intelligence? Results of RASP survey on AI

Selected results:

  • As many as 95% of respondents say they have heard of artificial intelligence, but does that mean they actually understand it? It turns out that many people associate AI mainly with robots, rather than with everyday algorithms that are everywhere, e.g., in weather maps, streaming services, or chatbots.

  • Workplaces, especially physical ones that require empathy and direct relationships, remain “resistant” to AI.

  • 65% of respondents admit that they do not have sufficient knowledge about artificial intelligence, and 20% are openly afraid of it. Enthusiasts who claim to be familiar with the subject (15%) do indeed often have a better understanding of AI.

  • The antidote to fear and misinformation is education—from elementary school to universities for seniors. The government, together with NGOs and the private sector, should actively engage in spreading reliable knowledge to minimize fears and misinformation.

We encourage you to read it, also in the online version of the weekly.
