Poles in the rhythm of hyperconnectivity. Selected findings from the 7th Tech4Society report

Has the internet become as important to us as electricity or water? The latest Tech4Society 2025 report prepared by the Digital Poland Foundation leaves no doubt: as many as 76% of Poles believe that digital connectivity is a critical infrastructure, without which it is difficult to imagine everyday life.

Poles in the rhythm of hyperconnectivity. Selected findings from the 7th Tech4Society report

Smartphone as the first screen of the day

Data shows that we live in a hyper-connected world. 88% of Poles reach for their phone within the first hour of waking up, and 77% almost never leave home without their smartphone. We are also increasingly operating in “multi-device” mode – 46% of respondents use three or more devices connected to the internet at the same time.

Although digital connectivity strengthens bonds (according to 87% of respondents), many Poles also feel overwhelmed. 43% say they are tired of being constantly online, and 37% consciously “disconnect” from the internet to regain balance.

Technology and ecology

The report also shows that Poles are increasingly linking technological development with environmental responsibility. 80% of respondents expect devices to be more environmentally friendly, and 70% pay attention to their energy efficiency. In turn, 57% believe that operators should use energy-efficient technologies in their networks.

Interestingly, 44% of Poles see the development of communications as an ally of the green transition—from resource savings to smart IoT sensors in buildings and transportation.

Who should finance network development?

One of the strong points of the report is the question of who should be responsible for investments in digital infrastructure. As many as 68% of Poles expect global tech giants (big tech) that benefit from the Polish market to co-finance its development. Most respondents also point to the need for partnership between the state and operators, especially in less developed regions of the country.

Fears and hopes regarding AI

Poles are open to innovation. 83% believe that new technologies make life easier, and 79% recognize their importance for better work. At the same time, more than half (57%) fear that the development of artificial intelligence and robotics may threaten jobs. This shows a pragmatic approach, because technology is an opportunity, but it requires responsibility and regulation.

Society 5.0

The Tech4Society 2025 report clearly shows that Poles want digitization to be secure, transparent, environmentally friendly, and fairly financed. Connectivity is no longer just a convenience—it has become the foundation of a modern society that must find a balance between innovation and care for people and the environment.

The report was presented during the inauguration of Digital Festival 2025, the largest private educational and technological initiative in Poland. The full text of the study can be downloaded free of charge after registering on the Digital Poland Foundation website.

The Digital Festival is held under the honorary patronage of: the Ministry of Digital Affairs, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the National Center for Research and Development, the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development, and the Mayor of Warsaw.

The event is also supported by, among others, the National Chamber of Electronic Economy and Telecommunications, the National Chamber of Commerce, the Polish Chamber of Information Technology and Telecommunications, the Polish Chamber of Electronic Communication, and a number of other institutions.
