At the end of October, an important meeting organised by the European Commission and chaired by EU Commissioner for Startups, Research and Innovation Ekaterina Zaharieva took place in Brussels. The meeting was devoted to the creation of a new fund – the Scaleup Europe Fund. It is a multi-billion fund supporting the most innovative European technology companies.
We are delighted that Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego wants to join the group of institutional partners of this initiative. We congratulate BGK on its commitment to building a strong innovation ecosystem in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe! We have long believed that BGK, like BPI France, for example, has an important role to play in Poland in scaling up technology companies.
One of the topics discussed with the Commissioner and investors was the conclusions of our joint report, Digital Champions CEE 2025. The discussions focused on issues such as access to capital, investments in technology companies in the CEE region, and the need for stronger cooperation between the public and private sectors in Europe.
The Digital Champions CEE 2025 report clearly shows that Central and Eastern Europe has enormous technological potential, but needs initiatives such as the Scaleup Europe Fund to transform start-ups into global leaders. We congratulate Jarosław Dąbrowski on his initiative and on representing BGK in such an important matter for innovation.
