Warsaw is focusing on Modern Seniors! Does technology have an age limit? Absolutely not!

Digital transformation knows no age limits, and Warsaw's senior citizens are the best proof of this. Instead of spending hours waiting in queues at government offices, they can now do everything with a few clicks from the comfort of their own homes. Over 300 residents of the capital took part in a pioneering project by the Digital Poland Foundation, which opened the door to the world of municipal e-services for them.

Warsaw is focusing on Modern Seniors! Does technology have an age limit? Absolutely not!

Did you know that over 300 Warsaw seniors took part in our training courses on digital skills and digital services offered by the City of Warsaw, which changed their everyday lives? We invite you to watch a short video about the ‘Modern Senior Citizen in Warsaw’ project, presented by Dominika Banaszkiewicz from the foundation.

Dominika talks about how seniors from Bielany, Żoliborz and Mokotów broke down digital barriers. The project showed that municipal e-services are not ‘black magic’, but a real convenience that saves time and health.

Instead of standing in long queues at government offices, seniors can now use the Warsaw Contact Centre 19115, book appointments at government offices online, use the Moja Warszawa platform and actively decide on their environment through the Citizens' Budget.

‘I don't have to go to the office and stand in line for hours to do the same thing at home via the internet,’ says one of the participants. These words are the best proof of how much such initiatives are needed!

As part of a special grant from the city, the foundation has also prepared a special educational brochure that explains the intricacies of the digital city step by step. It is the perfect tool for anyone who wants to start their adventure with e-government. Interest in our project exceeded expectations, as seniors from other districts regularly inquired about future editions of our training courses. This is a clear signal that Warsaw's seniors want to be digital, regardless of their age.

The project was funded by the City of Warsaw.
