The awards ceremony for the second edition of the competition for the best AI-related dissertations took place on 14 May 2026 in Warsaw. As the Digital Poland Foundation, we were honoured to be a strategic partner of this initiative and the sponsor of the social sciences (non-technical) category.
We rounded off an evening full of excitement with an awards ceremony and the presentation of certificates, as well as inspiring presentations of selected works by the winners, and we’d now like to share a short photo report from the event with you.
This year, 33 entries were submitted for judging across the entire competition. As the members of the judging panel emphasised, the standard of the entries was even higher than last year. This is wonderful proof of the dynamic development of the Polish artificial intelligence ecosystem. Selecting the best of the best was extremely difficult, and the final ranking was often decided by the finest of margins.
We extend special congratulations to the winners of the social category (master’s theses), for which we served as subject matter experts:
🥇 1st place: Jakub Figura for his thesis “Analysis of risks associated with generative artificial intelligence models from a legal perspective”
🥈 2nd place: Agnieszka Kaczmarczyk for her thesis “Training artificial intelligence models and copyright infringement from the perspective of Polish law in the context of the first lawsuits brought before US courts”
🥉 Third place (joint): Piotr Wołejsza for his paper “Development of a method for creating teaching materials using generative artificial intelligence tools”
🥉 Third place (joint): Maksymilian Sobotko for his paper “Intellectual property protection in the field of Big Data (...)”
A huge round of applause is also due to all those who received awards and honourable mentions in the technical track. The full list of winners and details of the winning entries can be found on the organiser’s website.
We would like to thank Paweł Gora and the Quantum AI Foundation for organising the entire event. We would also like to extend our thanks to the members of the jury – Dr Agnieszka Jankowska, Urszula Soler, Andrzej Sobczak and Piotr Mieczkowski – for their time and thorough assessment. We would also like to thank the other partners of the competition – Allegro, OVHcloud, Synerise and TCL Research Europe – for their joint support of young talent.
Congratulations to all the authors of the projects and their supervisors. We invite you to view the photos from the gala.
