The foundation's team at the Polish Sejm presented the conclusions for Poland from a review of nearly eighty digitisation strategies from around the world
🔮 During the work of the Committee on Digitalisation, Innovation and New Technologies, we discussed the report 'Review of National Digitalisation Strategies'. This is a kind of a compendium of knowledge on global digitisation strategies, which was created to support the process of development and implementation of the Polish Digitisation Strategy to 2035. The strategy was prepared by the Ministry of Digitalisation.
⛳ Among the recommendations to the Government of Poland, we pointed out the establishment of a steering committee under the Committee of the Council of Ministers for Digitalisation with a concrete project portfolio, budget and resources, and strong political leadership. One of the key success factors is the development of a concrete operational plan (e.g. following the example of Greece), the definition of SMART success metrics and the monitoring of progress (e.g. following the example of Switzerland). We also pointed to indicators of success for strategies geared to, for example, citizens' or entrepreneurs' satisfaction with the use of e-services, following the example of Estonia's digitalisation strategy. Among the best practices from Japan, we discussed e.g. a special digitalisation agency and excellent corporate governance for state-owned companies working together in thematic groups. At the end of the presentation, we also discussed the activities of the Cashless Poland Foundation in the area of cashless trading.
🙌 We would like to thank Chairman Bartholomew Pejo, the High Commission and Minister Dariusz Standerski for the opportunity to share their conclusions and the discussion following the presentation. We will also return to the Commission with an overview of digital diplomacy activities - we thank Paul Bliźniuk for his specific comments.
🙌 We thank Szymon Izydorek, Adam Spychała, Edyta Malesza-Malatrat,Konrad Ślusarczyk, Joanna Makówka-Kloc, Piotr Mieczkowski for their participation in the work of the Commission.
