Art of the Future: the winners of the 5th Digital Ars competition are announced

For the fifth time, the winners of the Digital Ars competition have been selected. First place in the No code category was won by Darya Ivanova for her work 'Baltic'. The main prize in the Open category for the work 'Inner cry - disintegrating consciousness' went to Milena Orzażewska. The winner in the Metamorphoses category was Zuzanna Leoniuk for her work 'The Pearl of Tomorrow'. Digital Ars, organised by the Digital Poland Foundation, is the first competition in Poland dedicated to visual arts created using artificial intelligence, data and algorithms. It is a space where technology becomes a tool for artistic expression.

Art of the Future: the winners of the 5th Digital Ars competition are announced

Daje przestrzeń do eksperymentowania, łączenia technik, tworzenia dzieł bardziej immersyjnych, zaskakujących i dialogujących z odbiorcą. Pokazuje również, że technologia i tradycja nie muszą się wykluczać, mogą współistnieć i wzajemnie się inspirować, prowadząc do powstania zupełnie nowej jakości w sztuce.

- For us, the Digital Ars competition is more than a review of AI work. It is an important part of our mission: to familiarise the public with new technologies and to overcome the fears associated with artificial intelligence. Art helps build bridges between humans and technology, between what is new and what we already know well. The works of this year's participants are proof that AI is not a distant future, but a reality that is happening here and now and that we can co-create with courage and sensitivity,' emphasises Michał Boni, President of the Digital Poland Foundation.

For the Digital Ars competition, the Digital Poland foundation annually invites both individual artists and teams who create artistic media in the form of image, video, sound or text written in Polish or English with the help of artificial intelligence (AI). The condition is that all works are created in a digital environment, using software, and that the final result is a graphic, film, sound or text file.

From among hundreds of entries from all corners of Poland, a jury of experts representing the artistic, academic and business communities and the Digital Poland Foundation selected the winners in three main categories:

  • OPEN - no restrictions on art type, working method or style. Full creativity allowed;

    NO CODE - a new category for artists starting out in AI, using available software, including online, to create artwork;

    METAMORPHOSES - artistic interpretation of well-known works and images.
