We received this award for nearly two years of intensive work by the Digital Seniors Coalition. From the outset, this initiative has had one clear goal: to ensure that senior citizens in Poland not only keep up with the digital revolution, but also become full participants in it.
Just imagine: over 70,000 senior citizens across Poland have already completed our training courses. 70,000 people who now make bank transfers on their own, use e-prescriptions, chat with their grandchildren via instant messaging, and pay by card or Blik without stress or fear of fraud. These are not just dry numbers – they are real human stories, smiles, regained independence and dignity.
The Digital Seniors Coalition is today the largest network of organisations, institutions, companies and volunteers in Poland working together to combat the digital exclusion of older people. We publish accessible guides (Nowoczesny Senior [Modern Senior] and Bezpieczeństwo w sieci [Online Safety]), run a free helpline, organise hundreds of stationary and online workshops, and our partners create events such as the Senior Economy Congress and Senior Days throughout Poland.
This award is a great honour for us, but above all, it is proof that we are moving in the right direction. Seniors are not a “difficult target group” – they are full-fledged citizens of the digital world who deserve respect, patience and real support. The Digital Seniors Coalition shows what can be achieved when organisations, institutions and volunteers join forces. On behalf of the foundation, I would like to thank all our partners and volunteers because this award belongs to you! - said Dominika Banaszkiewicz, Director of the Digital Festival, during the award ceremony.
The Future of Payments award from the Polska Bezgotówkowa foundation is not just a beautiful diploma and statuette for us. Above all, it is a huge motivation to take even more action. We have new challenges ahead of us: the use of artificial intelligence and the latest threats in the field of cybersecurity.
